At R&J’s Auto Spa, we always recommend that you bring your business and personal vehicles to us so we can wash and detail them in a professional way. However, if you are the kind of person who enjoys washing your car on a Sunday morning, then we want to give you some smart tips so you can get the most out of cleaning your car.

5 Tips to Effectively Wash Your Car

1) Avoid the Sun

When you wash your car on a sunny day, it will dry your car instead of you and will leave watermarks all over the paint, windows, and windshield. Always look for a shaded area where you can park your car before washing it, or even better, choose a cloudy day to get the job done.

2) Use Two Buckets

This is a very useful tip. In one bucket, mix water and your car cleaning product, and in the other one, just add water. This way, before sticking your sponge or microfiber towel again in the bucket with car shampoo, first submerge it in the bucket with just water to get the dirt off. In other words, if you use just one bucket, you will always pick up the old dirt, and your car won’t be as clean as it should be at the end.

3) Start from the Roof

A good practice when washing your car is to start from the top and work your way down. Make sure to leave your windows and windshield for the end. That way, you avoid previous dirt sticking to them.

4) Always Dry Your Vehicle

If you don’t dry your car, then it will end up with watermarks and a streaky finish when Mother Nature does it for you. We recommend that you use a clean microfiber towel to dry your car.

5) Wax It

Waxing your vehicle will not only give it a shiny touch, but will also protect it from several external elements that could scratch the paint. So, take some extra time to wax it and enjoy your clean and protected car.
